School Support and Leadership Services oversees all schools, academics and discipline, and multiple departments which provide direct service and support to students and schools in the District. The Division is also responsible for the Educational Services Department which provides a culture of innovation in Marana where every teacher is committed to deeper learning and digital transformation to enhance student engagement, increase curiosity, and provide a student-centered educational experience.
Services also include reviewing and resolving concerns regarding Title VII and Title IX, as well as assuring that all state and federal grants and funds are used according to State and Federal guidelines. The Division also oversees the documentation of Appropriately Certified Teachers and works with colleges and universities to ensure appropriate classes and courses of study for teachers.
School Support and Leadership Services serves as the District resource regarding mandatory reporting and other statutory and policy implementation, as well as supervises the ongoing revision of evaluation instruments and implementation of employee evaluation systems. This Division collaborates closely with the Human Resources Department on issues regarding teacher certification, negotiations and meet-and-confer, and staffing.
Issues that cannot be resolved at the school or department level are referred to the School Support and Leadership Services Division for resolution.
